About FFI<\/span><\/h4>\n

The Firefly Innovations<\/u> program was initiated through a broad based agricultural development program in South Africa and Southern Africa, known as Agri2000. (Click To See)<\/a><\/p>\n

Wildfires- within Africa are increasingly becoming a major threat to the environment, communities and overall sustainability of agriculture in Africa undermining food security.<\/p>\n

During interactions with communities and firefighters it became clear that little or no work has been done to enhance specifically fire engines for wildfire and forestry conditions.<\/p>\n

The $5\u00a0billion\u00a0dollar savings<\/span><\/h4>\n

Agri2000 is currently interacting with various companies in the United States with regards to agricultural developments.<\/p>\n

From these interactions it was suggested and put forward that an initial joint international strategy between the United States and Africa be developed to fund the development of these concepts.<\/p>\n

Especially so; as a result of the fact that these concepts could lead to substantial improvements in firefighting of wildfires- and forest fires and as it will also be able to save million of the costs of wildfire fighting.<\/p>\n

It is estimated that in the conditions in the\u00a0USA \u00a0these units can improve containment & suppression by more than 10%. Based on the US Department of Forestry’s wildfire containment cost estimates this will result in savings of over $5 billion dollars.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>

Top international\u00a0anchor partners<\/span><\/h4>\n

Via Agri2000 a number of new concepts have been formulated and designed, now at an advanced stage where prototype developments are urgently needed.<\/p>\n

These however are specialized wildfires-forestry firefighting units.<\/p>\n

Various companies have expressed an interest and commitment to manufacture these units subject to successful prototype tests.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>
