The gold of game\/ wildlife<\/strong><\/p>\n The game industry is at a crossroad. The main game \u201cgrowth\u201d drivers;- tourism, biodiversity, local community development and hunting have to be refocused and in all probability have to be repackaged.<\/p>\n These drivers in many respects are sometimes in conflict with each other, more so it is confusing and game\/ wildlife often becomes a subset of a particular driver, e.g. tourism.<\/p>\n The key\u00a0is the\u00a0\u201cbranding\u201d. <\/strong><\/p>\n Like him or hate him. If there is one thing that the Donald-Trump election in the United States as President clearly highlighted then\u00a0it was\u00a0the power of branding.<\/p>\n Branding both positive and negative, who will forget \u201ccrooked Hillary\u201d. And then not just \u201c Make America Great\u201d but \u201cMake America Great Again<\/u><\/strong>\u201d. Few people realizes it that \u00a0Donald Trump actually registered \u201c Make America Great Again\u201d as a trademark.<\/p>\n The other aspect which was\u00a0highlighted during the election was\u00a0that \u201cthe progressive\u201d viewpoints such as clean energy do not always prevail. The new administration is going to open up the coal mines, accelerate fracking. Morality simply becomes overwhelming when there is no firewood and temperatures are below subzero.<\/p>\n Wildlife should be the brand. <\/strong><\/p>\n The strength of branding lies in that it simplifies choice, but more so that it enforces the key question \u201cIs this the right decision for me?\u201d. My friend used to say \u201cA pyramid is either a pyramid or upside down.
